The judicial custody of five Jamia Millia Islamia University law students, accused of gangraping a minor girl for over two months by keeping her in captivity, was Thursday extended till January 16 by a Delhi court.
A senior police officer said Poornima was produced before a court on Wednesday and sent to judicial custody till August 2.
The agency also arrested Abhijit Mondal, the officer in charge of Tala police station, for his alleged involvement in the rape and murder of an on-duty woman medic in the RG Kar Hospital, he said.
A policeman was also arrested in the rape and murder case, the official said.
